Statement

The singular figure, sourced from the artist’s own photographs, is the subject and object for exploring the possibilities and boundaries of the medium of paint. The figure is transformed as colours and forms shift and are overpainted. As these elements are abstracted the subject becomes the meeting point between painterly abstraction and representation creating metaphoric journeys into the unknown.
